IPL 2018 : Virat Kohli , A B de Villiers Shine For RCB, Beat Delhi Daredevils By 5 Wickets

Desperate to win and stay in the hunt for the play-offs and salvage their pride , Royal Challengers Bangalore lived to fight another day in the Indian Premier League  as the superstar duo – skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers came to the party  in the middle  and  shared a scintillating 118-run stand off 64 balls to script a five wicket win over Delhi Daredevils, in Delhi.

Despite the team’s dismal run, Kohli has been in sublime form with the bat scoring a power packed 70 off 40 balls. It was fine innings from  Kohli on his home ground , Feroz shah Kotla .  Virat was well supported by an equally splendid unbeaten 72 not out from 37 balls from de Villiers.  It helped  RCB race to the 182-run target in 19 overs despite being reduced to two for 18 in the third over.

Earlier, Delhi had scored 181 for four, explosive Left- hander Rishabh Pant once again showed his batting prowess with a power innings , hitting blistering of 61 from 34 balls, while debutant Abhishek Sharma played a sparkling innings of 46 not out from just 19 balls to provide the boost in the death overs.

It was much needed win for the RCB, as it was the RCB’s only fourth win in 11 games, keeping them in contention for a play-off spot. For Delhi Daredevils it has been disastrous campaign it was their ninth defeat in 12 matches. They will finish the IPL 2018 at the bottom of the table.
