IPL 2018 : In A Rain Hit Tie, Rajasthan Royals Beat Delhi Daredevils By 10 Runs D/L Method

Rajasthan Royals returned to their home ground Swai Mansingh Stadium Jaipur with a win. After being outplayed by Sunrisers Hyderabad in their first match, they needed a comeback to regain their confidence.

Put into bat by Delhi Skipper Gautam Gambhir the Royals scored 153 for 5 in 17.5 over before rain halted play. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane came good with the bat scoring 45 off 40 balls , Sanju Samson 37 off 22 balls . Jos Buttler 29 off 18 played a quick fire cameo to give some total for the Royals.

Chasing revised target of 71 in six overs by the Duckworth-Lewis method after play resumed after nearly 2 and half hours . DD Could manage only 60 for 4 in their six overs.

Delhi got off to a horror start Colin Munro run out off the first ball of the innings following a mix-up with Glenn Maxwell.

Maxwell struggled to get going, scoring 17 from 12 balls before he was caught behind off pacer Laughlin.

With Rishabh Pant (20 off 14) gone in the penultimate over their win hopes were dashed.

It was a second straight loss for the Daredevils. Coach Ricky Ponting and skipper Gambhir will have to re- think their strategy quickly if they are to bounce back.
