IPL 2018 : Dwayne Bravo Shines In CSK’S Stunning 1 Wkt Win Over Mumbai Indians In The Opener

Back in the Indian Premier League after two year ban, Chennai Super Kings returned with a bang. Winning the first match of the season IPL season 11 by beating the defending Champions Mumbai Indians at their home ground Wankhede by 1 wicket to spare. It was a thrilling first game of the lucrative league and thus sets the tone for the enthralling matches ahead.

For the men in yellow the hero was Dwayne Bravo, the West Indian all- rounder scored a blazing 30 ball 68 with seven sixes powered his side to a thrilling win when all looked lost. He got admirable support from Kedar Jadhav.

Needing 7 off the last over, an injured Kedar Kadhav (24 no) unable to run due to hamstring problem played three dot balls before playing lap shot over fine leg off Mustafizur Rahaman followed by a cover drive to end the match on a winning note. They were chasing a tricky target of 166 .

For Mumbai Indians Hardik Pandya took 3/24 while leg- spinner Mayank Markande took (3/23) But Bravo had the last laugh.

Earlier, all-rounder Krunal Pandya smashed a quickfire 41 off 22 balls as Mumbai Indians recovered from a poor start to post a challenging 165 for 4. Mumbai Indians were  asked to bat first after CSK skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and decided to field first.

Mumbai Indians were struggling at 20 for 2 after openers Evin Lewis (0) and skipper Rohit Sharma (15) were dismissed cheaply on a track that assisted seamers.

A 78-run-third wicket stand between Suryakumar Yadav (43 in 29 balls) and Ishan Kishan (40 off 29 balls) put MI back on track before Pandya brothers Krunal and Hardik added 52 in 5.2 overs to take their team past 160 run mark.
