Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was finally granted bail by a district and sessions court in Jodhpur in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case in which he has been sentenced to five years in jail. His bail order was earlier reserved. The next hearing of the case is May 7.
District and Sessions Judge Ravindra Kumar Joshi heard the arguments of prosecution and defence which lasted for about an hour and pronounced the order at around 3 pm, a defence counsel said.
Khan’s sisters — Alvira and Arpita — were present during the hearing. The actor had spent two nights in the Jodhpur Central Jail after his sentencing on Thursday.
The actor was convicted by a trial court and sentenced to five years in prison for killing two blackbucks during the shooting of “Hum Saath Saath Hain” in Jodhpur.
Relief For Bollywood
The granting of bail for Salman is huge relief for the superstar. The actor has big films coming up and Rs 500 – 600 crore riding on his shoulders.
His next release is the Race Franchise – Race 3 directed by Remo D’ Souuza . It stars besides Salman Khan, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez ,Saqib Saleem,and Daisy Shah. The film is financed and produced under the banner of SKF Films and Ramesh Taurani’s Tips Films. The film’s expected to release during EID on June 15
After ‘Race 3’ Salman Khan will begin shooting for ‘Bharat’ which will be helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Based on the Korean movie, ‘Ode to My Father’ the film is slated to hit the screens in Eid 2019. The film is financed and produced under the banner of SKF Films and Ramesh Taurani’s Tips Films. The film’s expected to release on June 15. The other star cast are been finalised for the film.
Another project he will be working on will be the Dabangg Franchise- Its third instalment Dabangg 3, directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Arbaaz Khan. The film’s release date is yet to be confirmed.
Then there is Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick 2 where Jacqueline Fernandez is likely to opposite the superstar.
