Three Year Action Plan for New India

 

Recently, NITI Aayog released Three Year Action Plan for New India. This policy document showcases a roadmap for the rapid transformation of India. It is relevant and useful for all of us to know the broad contours of what lies ahead. The process that NITI Aayog is following is clearer now. As a premier think-tank of the Union Government, NITI Aayog claims to provide the critical knowledge, innovation, and entrepreneurial support to the country. Consistent with this goal, NITI Aayog came up with an extensive policy document. It grabbed the attention from various hues.

Prime Minister, Members of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog, including Chief Ministers of the States, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog, Full-time Members of NITI Aayog, ex-officio Members of NITI Aayog and Special Invitees were present.

With the arrival of this document in the public domain; the much hyped Five Years Plan is a history. It was an enduring legacy of the planned economy. In this backdrop, the Union Government considers Indian economy as more open and liberalized. NITI Aayog is fostering cooperative federalism by addressing national issues through mutual cooperation between the Centre and States.

6: Indices Measuring States’ Performance in Health, Education and Water Management
7: Sub-Group of Chief Ministers on Rationalization of Centrally Sponsored Schemes
8: Sub-Group of Chief Ministers on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
9: Sub-Group of Chief Ministers on Skill Development
10: Task Force on Elimination of Poverty in India
11: Task Force on Agriculture Development
12: Transforming India Lecture Series
